Chilean Government Scholarship Programmes
Chilean government provides postgraduate scholarships and certifying diploma scholarships.
- Postgraduate scholarships: The postgraduate scholarships are for international students who wish to go for master’s studies at the universities in Chile.
- Certifying Diploma scholarships: This scholarship is for professional international citizens who want to take part in highly specialized programme that last for 4 to 6 weeks.
Benefits: Covers university fee, round trip airline tickets, books and other related expenses, allowance, support for thesis and maintenance assignment.
Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must be accepted in Chilean university, or possess a professional degree, and to be presently working.
Applying Ways and Means: Fill in an application and submit it to the Candidate’s focal point of the country of origin and a copy to the Chile embassy. Submit the following documents along with the form:
- A copy of Sponsorship letter from institution
- Reason to study in Chile
- Medical certificate
- A letter of academic reference
- Final acceptance letter: for postgraduate scholarships
Becas Chile Program
The Chilean Government (Ministry of Education) provides scholarship to Chilean pupils via the Becas Chile program.
Levels of study: Masters, PhD, short-term research, Postdoctoral research, teacher training and technical
programmes.

Other Scholarships and Grants
The Ministry of education of Chile award tariff scholarships to pupils who are going into the first year of the higher education institutions.
Bicentennial Scholarships (BB)
This scholarship is for secondary school graduates with excellent academic record who want to study at the universities that belong to the Council of Rectors (CRUCH).
Juan Gomez Millas scholarship (BJGM)
This scholarship is for secondary school graduates with excellent academic record who want to study at any higher education institution accredited to December 31, 2014. Students must have at least a PSU score of 500 or above points.
PSU Scholarship Points (BPSU)
This scholarship is for pupils who have got a national score in any of the PSU test or an average of mathematics and language tests, the same year that the scholarship is put forward; and are going into the higher education in the year following graduation from secondary school. Such students must be from municipal and private subsidized schools.
