Educational Accreditation Bodies in Chile
Accreditation of higher education institutions and their study programmes in Chile is done by the National Accreditation commission.
National Accreditation Commission (Comision Nacional de Acreditacion, or CNA)
The National Accreditation commission supervises and promotes the quality of higher education in Chile by carrying out the institutional accreditation of the higher education institutions in Chile. The commission also conducts the accreditation of the undergraduate and graduate programmes of the higher education institutions.
National Council of Education (Consejo Nacional de Educacion, or NCED)
The National Council of Education is responsible for quality of education. The NCED approves the proposals related to preschool, primary, secondary and adult education in Chile. It also provides licenses to the new institutions and all the higher education institutions in Chile are recognised and approved by the NCED.
Ministry of Education
The Chilean Ministry of Education is the governing body that is responsible for the education system. The Ministry administers education at all levels, from preschool to tertiary education. It frames the educational policies and strategies, and ensures quality in education.
